About Us
We set up The Hoard Book as a fun way to teach our own children about money, after finding out that most young people leave education without the money skills they need. Research has shown that children's money habits may be formed as early as 7, so with our three boys aged 3, 5 & 7, now was the perfect time to start. When we couldn't find the teaching tool we wanted - one that utilises storytelling and imagination to teach, and focussed on the financial concepts not the maths - so we wrote our own. It was such a hit we decided to share it with everyone else.
We believe that teaching children about money early sets them up to make good financial decisions as they get older and prepares them for being financially independent adults. The Hoard Book follows a young dragon, Taj, as he creates his own first Hoard, and learns all about money on the way. The Hoard Book teaches children about concepts such as saving, loans, and investments in a fun way that lets them understand the underlying concepts behind these financial terms.
Every issue of The Hoard Book has been checked over and edited by a chartered accountant, with over 15 years working in finance
